Founder's Corner

Meet the Founder – Parushi Garg

I’m Parushi, a NIFT graduate specialising in Knitwear Design, and the mind and heart behind our Ayurvastra vision. My work blends contemporary design with India’s ancient textile wisdom, rooted in my belief that clothing should nurture both the body and the mind.

My journey through textile research, sustainable processes, and natural dye practices led me to revive Ayurvastra as a modern wellness textile. With every piece I create, I aim to make wellness wearable, bringing purity, purpose, and mindful craftsmanship back into everyday living.

My research has been recognised through multiple honours, including winning the HimGra Design for Icon Award 2025 and a nomination at the Sustainable Next Conference Awards 2023.

Miho Ayurvastra: Supported by Clinical Studies

We are also proud to share that Ayurvastra has recently been the subject of clinical studies conducted by a state government college in Kerala.

The case study observed promising therapeutic effects of Ayurvastra textiles in supporting conditions such as arthritis, joint pain, psoriasis, and other skin-related concerns.

As part of this research, several Miho garments and fabrics were submitted for clinical testing alongside other Ayurvastra products. The findings concluded that the therapeutic effectiveness of Ayurvastra was also validated in Miho’s textiles.

Miho is honoured to be a part of these ongoing clinical explorations and research trials that continue to study the benefits of Ayurvastra. Several studies have already been completed, with more currently underway.

Ayurvastra Research Paper

Ayurvastra is not a concept conceived overnight. It is the outcome of over two years of research, establishing its practical application rooted in both scientific understanding and traditional Ayurvedic knowledge. The principles that shape our brand ethos are directly derived from this research and the evidence-based foundations of Ayurvastra.

This study explores how natural fabrics infused with medicinal herbs can support well-being through transdermal interaction with the skin, drawing from Ayurvedic texts and traditional dyeing processes that exclude synthetic chemicals. It also examines the therapeutic potential of specific herbs, their role in skin health, relaxation, and dosha balance, while highlighting Ayurvastra’s relevance in sustainable and conscious living.
